The Piñata is associated with Mexican fiestas and fun. It also has a Christian meaning. The candies inside the colorful paper figure are temptations, the blindfolded person stands for blind unwavering faith, and the stick symbolizes goodness. When the candies are released they are the just rewards of faith and goodness!

Holidays and Memories is proud to have the opportunity to offer Old World Christmas ornaments and collectibles by Tim and Beth Merck of Spokane WA. The Merck family founded Old World Christmas in 1979. Merck collector ornaments are highly prized and collected worldwide and are something that your family and friends will hand down for generations. Each glass ornament produced for The Merck Family's Old World Christmas is hand crafted in age old tradition using the same techniques that originated in the 1800's. Molten glass is mouth blown into finely carved molds available only to the Merck Family's Old World Christmas, before a hot solution of liquid silver is poured inside. The ornaments are then hand-painted and glittered in a series of labor-intensive steps to achieve the beautiful creations.
